Calibration Technician


Join Lonza as a Calibration Technician and play a key role in maintaining and calibrating critical instrumentation used in a cGMP manufacturing environment. In this hands-on technical role, you will support the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of equipment through planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration activities. This position is ideal for a motivated technician with a strong foundation in instrumentation, electronics, and regulated manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair activities on mechanical, digital, and analog instrumentation in accordance with cGMP procedures.

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

  • Complete maintenance work orders and supporting documentation accurately using SAP, DMS, QMS, and other required systems.

  • Maintain full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while executing all assigned tasks.

  • Support calibration and instrumentation activities across manufacturing and utility systems.

  • Participate in required technical, safety, and cGMP training programs to develop and maintain proficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational readiness, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a related technical discipline preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, maintenance, or a related technical field.

  • Experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment or technical military service background required; biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of electronic theory, instrumentation principles, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Proficiency using standard calibration and test equipment.

  • Experience with DeltaV, Profibus, and HART instrumentation is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word; experience with SAP, OneNote, and Adobe Acrobat is an advantage.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of integrity, safety, and quality.

  • ISA Level 1 certification or higher is preferred.
