The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Biologics organization, we are seeking experienced Bioprocess Engineers with significant work experience in Downstream Processing (DSP) Manufacturing and a passion for Biotechnology to join our Lonza talent community. What you will do:

  • Plan and oversee manufacturing campaigns in mammalian production, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Prepare and complete risk analyses (SHE, EM, operational, cleaning) for assigned products and implement control measures.
  • Establish and review production documentation, including electronic batch records, with high quality and timeliness.
  • Conduct manufacturing activities per cGMP standards, troubleshoot issues, evaluate test results, and recommend solutions.
  • Manage deviations, change requests, and CAPAs, ensuring compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Act as production expert in capital projects, providing input for setup, commissioning, qualification, and automation.
  • Develop and review DeltaV/MES recipes and coordinate engineering support for campaign preparation and changeovers.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Strong biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge in biotechnical engineering.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of GMP principles and compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to interact across organizational interfaces; strong team player.
  • Highly organized, focused, and open-minded, with a proactive and motivated approach to tasks.
  • Driven to succeed, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
