Director, Program Management

The location of this job is in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The Director will be fully responsible for managing a direct group of Program Managers, promoting a culture of teamwork while motivating, empowering and enabling them to be fully accountable for their programs. The Director will maintain a holistic view on strategic portfolios, including risk and issue profiles while supporting mitigation plans to ensure effectiveness.

What you will do:

• Retain and develop PM talent within the team. Spread a culture according to the PM values

• Support the deployment of best practices and tools to the PM team

• Be the interface between the Customer and Lonza to ensure delivery and execution according to Lonza and the Customer’s expectations

• Use all PM Standard Work processes to effectively manage projects

• Fully accountable for all operational aspects in leading cross-functional project teams to deliver on all scope objectives with the highest level of quality

• Ensure Customer satisfaction throughout the life of the program through collaborative relationship management with Account Management/Sales

• Ensure adherence to Global Program and Project Center of Excellence (PPM CoE) Standards, including data integrity excellence in Planview.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Life Science or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

• Direct management experience; demonstrated leadership capability.

• 12+ years’ experience in bio-industry environment. Program or Project Management experience required. High level customer engagement experience.

• Able to travel as required by the position (~10%)
