Category Manager (CAPEX) – Process Equipment

We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to lead the strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, and end-to-end lifecycle management of heavy process equipment for major CAPEX projects at our site in Visp.

This is an office-first role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 20% of your time (one day per week).

What you will do:

• Define, deploy, and execute the global and regional category strategy for process equipment within high-impact CAPEX projects.

• Drive cost competitiveness, supply security, and value engineering across the entire engineering project lifecycle.

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx management, comprehensive supplier selection, and intensive commercial negotiations.

• Partner proactively with internal Engineering and Project Teams to secure early procurement involvement and technical alignment.

• Manage strategic, high-value supplier relationships, establishing strong governance frameworks to continuously monitor performance and mitigate risk.

• Ensure all process equipment sourcing strategies strictly comply with GMP standards and site-specific technical and quality regulations.

What we are looking for:

• Experience: 7 years+ of robust experience within Procurement or Category Management, with a proven track record handling large-scale CAPEX projects.

• Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise working in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated environment.

• Technical Sourcing: Demonstrated background in sourcing specialized process equipment and managing heavy engineering portfolios.

• Negotiation: Stellar track record in high-stakes commercial contracting and supplier relationship strategy.

• Education: Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent field; a strong technical background is highly preferred.

• Languages: Native or fluent professional proficiency in both German and English is mandatory.
