Business Intelligence/Data Analytics Specialist

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE/DATA ANALYTICS SPECIALIST  

LOCATION: Hyderabad 

INTRO SUMMARY OF THE ROLE : 

At Lonza, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Group Intelligence team. This role supports the technical delivery and day-to-day operation of Lonza’s Business Intelligence platforms, with a primary focus on Commercial, Sales, and Marketing use cases. You will contribute across the full BI lifecycle—from data ingestion and modelling through to analytics, applications, and user-facing reporting—ensuring BI products are reliable, scalable, and aligned to business needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Act as an active member of the Omni BI project team, supporting delivery and evolution of BI products.

• Gather business requirements and scope solutions with a strong focus on end users.

• Develop ETL processes, manage data integration and pipelines.

• Design and deliver user-centric reports and dashboards with strong storytelling and usability principles.

• Generate analytics and insights to support commercial decision-making.

• Strengthen data foundations by improving data quality, availability, and traceability.

• Provide operational support for BI platforms, including monitoring, issue resolution, and performance optimization.

• Contribute to data governance through standards, metadata management, and access controls.

• Identify opportunities for BI, analytics, or automation to deliver additional value, primarily within Marketing.

• Encourage innovation through proof-of-concept development and continuous improvement of tools and processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data, IT, Digital, or related fields.

• Experience: Entry-level (0–4 years) in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or related areas.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong BI and data skills, with experience in database-driven environments.

  • Hands-on ETL experience with tools such as Snaplogic, SSIS, Azure Data Factory.

  • Awareness of data governance concepts (quality, lineage, controlled access).

  • Experience designing reports/dashboards using Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Spotfire, Looker, or equivalent.

  • Advantageous: Experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Node.js), containerized environments (Docker), CI/CD practices.

• Ways of Working:

  • Experience in Agile or iterative delivery environments.

  • Strong analytical mindset, proactive, structured, and collaborative across technical and non-technical teams.
