Slough, United KingdomJoin our Pilot Operations team in Slough and play a hands-on role in supporting the development and execution of bioprocesses at pilot scale. You’ll work alongside technical and scientific colleagues to deliver high-quality pilot operations across upstream and downstream processing, helping turn innovative life-science processes into scalable solutions.
This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:Support the execution of new and existing processes at pilot scale, working as part of a collaborative team and following established procedures and documentation.
Plan and manage daily activities, including the operation of plant and laboratory equipment required for pilot-scale activities.
Prepare batch records, data forms and other documentation to support accurate and efficient pilot batch execution.
Coordinate the ordering and availability of raw materials and consumables, working closely with colleagues across the pilot team.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, equipment readiness, inventory control and general laboratory organisation.
Record scientific and operational data accurately, identify unusual or unexpected results, and communicate observations promptly to the relevant technical team members.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities that help improve productivity, process performance and efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety and environmental compliance.
An interest in developing a career in biotechnology, bioprocessing or a related scientific or engineering field, with a willingness to develop technically in upstream or downstream processing.
Working towards a degree, vocational qualification or equivalent demonstrable skills and knowledge in a biological science, biotechnology, biochemical engineering or related discipline.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and high-quality scientific data.
An understanding of numerical data and the ability to recognise and communicate unexpected or anomalous results.
A self-motivated, positive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage varied tasks and priorities with appropriate support.
Good awareness of the importance of quality, safety, cleanliness and compliance when working in a scientific or pilot-scale environment.
