We are seeking an Associate Director, Market Intelligence Manager, a key role within our CDMO, Central Marketing team. This position provides high-quality insights on customers, market environments, and trends across various CDMO offerings—a business-critical function that enables digital laboratory workflows and strategic commercial efficiency across Lonza’s global platforms.
Job Summary:
As an Associate Director, Market Intelligence Manager, you will work closely with the Head of MI & CI to perform core and specific ad-hoc analysis in strategic projects and business cases to ensure valuable, succinct, and actionable insights. You will maintain a high level of expertise in interpreting market data to provide directions for business performance and commercial strategy while supporting various Business Units through system enhancements and intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities-
Defines and investigates existing markets within various Lonza Platforms.
Explores adjacent or new business opportunities for assigned technologies together with commercial and strategic teams.
Provides high-quality insights on customer, market environment, and trends; leads MI & CI initiatives across various Business Units and supporting functions.
Proactively develops and leads all market and competitive intelligence activities to provide directions for strategic decision-making.
Works cross-functionally as an embedded partner with strategy, strategic marketing, ComDev, or business intelligence teams.
Identifies critical MI & CI business issues and opportunities to ensure growth for the intelligence team.
Collaborates with team members regularly across all modalities to improve best practices in MI & CI.
Establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives under broad directional guidance.
Key Requirements:
Domain Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or business area is essential; an MBA or PhD is preferred.
Significant experience in Pharma/Biotech or R&D (0-4 years) or Consulting (5-10 years) environments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large amounts of data.
Understanding of the CDMO market landscape and strategic commercial frameworks.
Experience writing and updating reports, business cases, and strategic documentation.
Business fluent in English (Level 2).
