Job Summary:
Support ongoing Lonza operations through technical assistance as it relates to
the manufacturing and process systems. The Associate Director – MES & OT,
will lead the roadmap of OT systems, including MES, at the Houston site, in
alignment with all relevant stakeholders, including external clients.
Provide technical Leadership to ensure that equipment, systems and facilities
are designed and operating to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety
• Performs all work safely and meets the requisite training requirements
Management
• Provide leadership and technical expertise for maintenance strategy for
equipment and systems
• Recommend and support implementation of improvements to maintenance
instructions including Job Plans, Spare Parts Lists, etc
• Lead and Develop Other Managers and Supervisors
• Development synergies with other areas and departments
• Interact with corporate teams and implement global initiatives
• Implement projects with minimal supervision
• Handle different strategies at the same time
• Advising functional groups about best methods
• Assist Manager and Supervisors with prioritization of work, resource
loading and goal establishment and attainment
• Conduct regular 1-on-1’s and skip level meetings with employees to check
progress on work objectives and to define developmental opportunities
with the organization
• Perform performance reviews with direct reports and approve performance
ratings for employees within organization structure
• Prepares budgets for and reviews cost center spending within
organizational control
• Accountable for your department performance and results
• Integration of program and dept program with the site objectives
• Recommend and implement improvements to timing and coordination of
maintenance activities
• Provide field support to identify and resolve equipment, system and
maintenance related issues
• Provide support to improve safety, compliance, efficiency and effective
execution of maintenance work orders
• Manage selected maintenance contract service providers
Technical and Manufacturing Support
• Provide leadership and technical expertise for the OT and MES strategies
at the Houston Site.
• Develop and provide technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment
and processes to Engineers as well as Manufacturing.
• Approve change request lot assessments to support lot release, approves
assessments for direct reports
• Participates in audits and inspections as Engineering SME and supports
QA in development of regulatory and customer audit responses
• Provides mentorship and coaching to Tech within department
• Evaluate equipment and instrumentation maintenance and failure history
and recommend and implement improvements
• Partner with IT to ensure infrastructure, including network and servers, is
available and operational.
• Ensure equipment and systems are available and operational
Key Responsibilities:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
10+ years of relevant experience
Pharma/cGMP preferred
