Join us in Slough as an Asset Engineering Compliance SME to lead our site maintenance compliance, statutory inspection readiness, and engineering project handovers.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will get:

  • An agile career and dynamic working culture.

  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.

  • Competitive hourly rate.

Compensation for this role will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant knowledge.

What you will do:

  • Drive site statutory compliance by managing inspection planning, reviews, and evidence for LOLER and PSSR regulations across Slough (and occasionally Cambridge).

  • Act as the engineering compliance gatekeeper for capital project handovers, snagging, operational readiness, and seamless integration into maintenance workflows.

  • Serve as the Asset/Reliability Engineering SME during internal and regulatory audits, collating evidence and driving resolution of observations.

  • Audit and optimize asset data, maintenance plans, SOPs, and inspection records in SAP to eliminate compliance gaps.

  • Review and approve production and laboratory equipment modifications, change controls, and technical documentation for safe and compliant site operations.

  • Lead Quality Tracking System tasks by collaborating with Quality, Operations, and Engineering teams to close investigations and CAPAs promptly.

  • Partner with technical stakeholders and training teams to define competency expectations and upskill technicians on Good Engineering Practice (GEP).

What we are looking for:

  • Strong mechanical engineering background with direct, practical experience applying LOLER and PSSR statutory inspection requirements in a regulated environment.

  • Proven track record supporting asset compliance within pharmaceutical, FMCG, or related regulated industries under GMP and Good Engineering Practice (GEP) standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in asset lifecycle management, CAPEX project handovers, snagging protocols, and operational readiness.

  • Practical experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), specifically SAP asset management, change controls, and SOP development.

  • Background working with plant/clean utilities, laboratory equipment, or manufacturing assets.

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (Chemical or Electrical Engineering with relevant experience also considered).

  • Fluent written and spoken English with exceptional cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
